An online radio station started by teenagers for teenagers is gaining fans in South Canterbury.
Roncalli College's Jordan Diamond, 16, and Mountainview High School's Bailey Dunnage, 15, have been running So Dope FM for the past six months.

Jordan started it after his mum suggested it might be a good idea, as the region did not have a radio station for teens. Bailey joined the team three months ago and since then the pair have been broadcasting their own shows, a wide range of music and running online competitions.
Tunes are played through their website, on Fridays and Saturdays, and they keep in touch with their fans using their Facebook page.
"It's based towards teens. We talk about events, teen news and sports.
"We're trying to start an event, more of a rave type thing, but we need to talk to some people about it first," Jordan said.
Jordan said the highest number of people they had looking at their website in one day was 345.
They also had more than 160 "likes" on their Facebook page so far.
He and Bailey were working on an Android app, which they hoped to have ready by next week. It would allow fans to listen to So Dope FM on their cellphones.
Jordan said he had had some negative feedback about the name of their station, but said it had nothing to do with drugs.
"At the time we chose the name, people were saying, 'that's so dope'. It means 'that's cool'."
That was the reason he chose the name, as the station featured "up-to-date" music.
"We play pop, rock, hip hop, rap, reggae ... everything."
They also run competitions, such as one where people had to guess the song after the boys translated the lyrics into Japanese and then back into English. Someone finally figured out it was Rolling in the Deep by Adele, Jordan said.
The boys' long-term plan for So Dope FM was for the station to be on a frequency, whether that was available locally or nationwide.
