Our Publishing Program

The variety of material contributed to the virtual archives, deposited with the Foundation's own archives or those of its Radio Heritage Partners, provides a rich resource from which specific personal stories or themes and subjects can be developed for a wider audience.

We encourage academic and popular study and research into any aspects of radio broadcasting in the Pacific using our resources and those of our Radio Heritage Partners, and wish to develop an ongoing publishing program ranging from on-line articles to pamphlets, papers, magazine and newspaper articles, books and thesis subjects, together with the photos and other visual aids to accompany and illustrate them.

VK2ME In other words if it's your own story, or someone else's story, and it's about radio in the Pacific, then we'd like to find a way to encourage and support you to have it published.

These will range from commissioned stories, to ideas you may have of your own, and everything in between. We welcome approaches from magazine and newspaper publishers interested in one-off articles or series using our resources, and journalists, writers, researchers and students who have an idea for a story - whether you've been published before or not.

The Publishing Program will provide a menu of support options, ranging from access to materials, licensing of text and images, research help, assistance with publishing and printing costs, marketing, promotion, sales and distribution help, access to our on-line shop and to our members and other resources.

The Foundation is interested in entering into a number of joint venture publishing arrangements with reputable publishers and sales and distribution agents to achieve these objectives, and generate a growing sales and royalty income stream to support its activities. Please contact us.

We need a volunteer able to help us develop the Publishing Program, and another volunteer to develop the criteria for copyright and licensing issues relating to all our publishing, including our on-line Virtual Archives Project.

Radio Heritage Foundation projects and activities connect radio, popular culture, history and heritage.

The charitable trust has been giving a voice to those involved in radio via our website since 2004 and will continue to do so.

We are inclusive of all visitors, regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, or disability and aim to connect people of all ages and cultures who love radio

We welcome a sense of wonder from the joy of listening via radio, and from memories retold for the enjoyment of all generations.

We prefer to use environmentally sustainable goods and services where we can afford to, and we provide free community access worldwide to our collections, published research, preservation and promotion activities in a completely paper-free environment.
