Large character 90 year old Californian bungalow freshly redecorated with 3 bedrooms [all double rooms, with bedding supplied for 1 x double, 2 x single], large lounge, sun room, country style kitchen, bathroom with original deep iron bath tub, separate toilet, separate utility room with original washing copper, off-street parking, large grounds with fruit trees. Leadlight windows, sunny window bays.

Own artesian water bore supplies fresh clean drinking water, separately piped high pressure water supply for bathroom and utilities. Linen, crockery and flatware supplied, full cooking stove, utensils, heat pump for winter, air conditioning for summer. Washing machine. TV and radio. Wireless internet and cellphone coverage area.

Just a few minutes walk away is the original transmitter building for 3ZB Christchurch, currently on the preservation and restoration agenda for the Radio Heritage Foundation as resources become available.

Tema Beach Bungalow and grounds continues to undergo restoration as funds and resources allow with non-toxic and natural products and procedures, and electric appliances are minimized to reduce electro-magnetic contamination.

No sprays have been used in the garden which is effectively an organic zone. The entire property is a smoke-free area. We have already hosted a wedding group from the UK and a large family group from Norway for an extended [4 week] stay.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tema Beach Bungalow, a refreshing beach stay at our 1920's Californian beach bungalow. You'll have a great vacation and support the Radio Heritage Foundation charity at the same time. Two great causes!

Tema Beach received some structural and cosmetic damage in the February 22 2011 earthquake and a full repair program is now scheduled for completion by the end of 2012.

* It is available for short term use only on a week by week basis and is unsuitable for children and people concerned about visible [cosmetic] wall and ceiling cracks. Water, power and sewage systems are functioning normally.

The current daily rate is $A95 [$A665 per seven days] which includes power consumption. Because repair work may need to be undertaken at short notice and require vacant possession, the weekly occupancy periods will be strictly enforced but at least 14 days notice of unavailability should be possible.

For availability, please email your proposed dates of stay to us. We will respond as soon as possible. Payment is via PAYPAL only and made in advance of each 7 days of your stay.

Radio Heritage Foundation projects and activities connect radio, popular culture, history and heritage.

We operate as a non-profit organization where all donations and funds received go towards our costs of meeting these objectives. We are incorporated as a charitable trust in New Zealand under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 [Registration # 1473801] and we are a registered charitable entity in New Zealand in terms of the Charities Act 2005 [Registration # CC25951].

We file an annual report including a financial report with the
New Zealand Charities Commission.
We are registered with the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department as having approved donee status for New Zealand tax residents who can claim a one-third rebate for every dollar donated to the Radio Heritage Foundation. Our New Zealand Goods & Services Tax [GST] registration number is 89-199-638.

We prefer to use environmentally sustainable goods and services where we can afford to, and we provide free community access worldwide to our collections, published research, preservation and promotion activities in a completely paper-free environment.
